The Wrong lens
I've seen this all over the web recently so I'm not going to link to any particular essay
The problem of the west is that it refuses to name the enemy and the enemy is Islam
(or Jihad or Islamic terrorism or whatever ) .
And only by Naming the enemy and understanding its goal , World Conquest , can we
start fighting it .
Nice but Wrong
Here's an Axiom : Ideology is the Rationalization of the Urge
people use ideology as the excuse for doing what they would be doing anyway
Life of course is not that simple . There's a positive feedback going on . You choose an ideology that justifies what you want to do. But then you do things that the ideology you chose commands and you learn to enjoy those things (or you change the ideology ) and so on
What this means is that the people we are fighting are only really interested in killing and dying and that if Islam won today and there would be one single Islamic theocracy from one end of the earth to the other those people ( be they arabs , chechens , Indonesians or whatever ) would just find another excuse to go on killing
Yes , there are reasons why all those sick fucks are Muslims and the roots of their sickness lies with Islamic culture . But that is neither here not there when it comes to fighting them intelligently.
If you assume that they have a cause like a world wide Islamic state or the destruction of the west then you expect them to act in accordance with that goal and to do those things that help or would seem to them to help getting there
OTOH
If you assume (correctly) that all they really want is to kill and die you would expect a somewhat different behavior . Basically to kill whenever they could regardless of consequences
And if that's their goal the only thing you can do is oblige them , preemptively whenever possible

Stating The Obvious (PDF)
( got it from Backspin )
But I don't like it that Funding For Peace Coalition hides behind "concerned citizens"
That's just shifty
And why did they drop the projects and started to simply throw money at the PLO?
The standard story is that the "hostilities" prevented many of the projects from going on.
You ask me they just dropped the pretense and started funding jew killing directly which what this was all about anyways
But I'm paranoid

After the outbreak of the second Intifada in 2000, European aid to the Palestinians
again rose substantially. More important than the increase itself was the change
in how this aid was distributed. Initially, aid had been awarded largely on a
project-by-project basis. Following the outbreak of renewed violence, European
aid has moved towards direct budgetary support (DBS) for the Palestinian
Authority.

What is left unmentioned [by EU officials and NGO's] is that despite the largewhere indeedly?
injections of financial aid that have already been pumped into the Palestinian
territories over decades, the financial hardships remain. This situation must force
Europeans to ask the simplest of questions. If the money has not gone to those
for whom it was donated, where then has this money gone?
