Not the most original idea ever
Jesus and Marx
My father says that the Jews have only one obligation to the nations and that is to give them a great moral figure once every 2000 years or so . And since we already gave them Marx we really owe them nothing for the next two millennia
No , my father doesn't think Marx was right or anything
He said great figure not right . And if you'd prefer you can take Freud instead (or you can take them together and leave us alone for the next four millennia)
There is an interesting parallel between early Christianity and modern day Marxism
I'm looking at two developments in early Christianity
If I understand correctly at the beginning when the "nazarenes" were still a Jewish or semi Jewish cult they believed that the end of the world is imminent but as it became clear that the second coming isn't coming they've changed their beliefs to accommodate it transferring the end of days to the far future
at the same time or maybe after that the Christians became rabidly anti Jewish , so much so that it was part of the core belief system
The parallels to modern marxism are obvious
"The Revolution" never happened , at least not the one that was supposed to happen , so Marxism or Socialism or whatever you want to call it is being reworked to fit the situation and at the same time it is becoming rabidly anti jewish
